when to start
Once you know the direction your path is going, it’s time
to commit to a start date for moving ahead.
What are you waiting for?
In step 1 of “Creating Your Path” we revealed the obstacle of home ownership to living a more fulfilling life. In this step, we’ll identify another obstacle — waiting. Many of us believe we’re not ready just yet for retirement living.
And that’s completely understandable.
The decision to move is a big one, and a bit frightening too. Even though home maintenance and housework are headaches, they’re the headaches we know. And there’s some comfort in that familiarity.
Moving from your home to someplace new is filled with all kinds of unknowns — new experiences and new people. And that can naturally make us hesitate. So we look for reasons NOT to move forward.
But there is some comfort in knowing you are not alone. We have thousands of residents living in our communities that have been in the EXACT position as you are right now, feeling the same feelings too.
Yet every one of them eventually took the next step. They sold their house and they moved forward into a community. And if you ask them, they’re likely to tell you the same thing: They only wish they’d done it sooner.
The reasons why are easy to see once you’ve made the decision to move, and have settled into one of our communities. There’s a burden that’s been lifted, life is so much more enjoyable. The future looks bright, and you’re excited to see what tomorrow will bring.
Our communities were designed for you, at this stage of your life. They’re built and staffed to meet your needs and help you live your life exactly the way you want to, and allow you to pursue all those experiences that make you happy and fulfilled.
And there’s another great reason not to wait: Value. The longer you’re living in a retirement community, the more value you’ll receive for your investment. The best time to move is when you’re fit and able to get around and enjoy all that we have to offer.
So you see, waiting can waste your time and money. The reality is that if you’re reading this, it’s time. Find a Front Porch community and schedule a tour. Take the next step and start now — move forward.
